Tatyana Vedeneeva and Angelina Vovk flashed at the anniversary of the Ostankino TV tower

In honor of the 55th anniversary of the TV tower, they remembered the legends of Soviet TV

The Ostankino TV Tower is a landmark building in all respects, so they decided to celebrate its 55th anniversary with a twinkle. It is gratifying that in honor of the round date, instead of a boring officialdom, they arranged an essentially secular party with fireworks and the opening of a gallery of stars.

Despite its age and associations with the transition from black-and-white to color television, the Ostankino Tower still looks like a symbol of progress and the triumph of scientific thought. Perhaps that is why the organizers of the holiday wanted to combine nostalgia for the old television with high-tech, which worked out well.

The place for the party was a spectacular glass gallery, through which numerous visitors usually go to the tower itself. And the very opening of the first personalized stars in honor of TV legends was a match for the ultra-modern scenery. No cut ribbons and stars immured in the concrete floor. Instead, bright luminous signs are embedded in the gallery’s glass walls. On each of the stars there is a QR code, photos and videos about the person in whose honor it is installed are available through it.

They decided to start the gallery of stars with the names of the legendary announcers of Soviet and Russian television. The first commemorative signs are dedicated to Valentina Leontyeva, Anna Shilova, Igor Kirillov, Sergei Kapitsa and Yuri Senkevich. All of them have already passed away, but their famous colleagues did not miss the opportunity to once again pay tribute to the people they knew so well.

Representatives of the old teleguards became, of course, the main stars of the evening. It must be admitted that they still look very cheerful and even ironic on this topic. “Sometimes you want to start dancing, but you need to remember about the capabilities of the musculoskeletal system,” said Angelina Vovk, giving the press a snow-white smile.

Experienced fashion experts do not exaggerate at all when they say that famous announcers and presenters of pre-perestroika times are still bearers of great style. Angelina Vovk was irresistible in black velvet. Anna Shatilova did not change her strict blouse with a raised collar (her corporate style for decades), complementing it with a spectacular poncho. Tatyana Vedeneeva sparkled with a jacket embroidered with gold sequins, Tatyana Sudets chose a classic dress in which she looked very slim. Nikolai Drozdov came in a strict gray suit, and, like a real gentleman, he preferred to shine with friendly manners and impeccable Russian.

For the star guests of the party, the Ostankino Tower is, first of all, memories. “I first came here thanks to the French actress Michelle Mercier,” said Tatyana Vedeneeva. – She was a guest in the morning program that I hosted, and after the broadcast we decided to show her the famous tower. And so, sitting in the cafe upstairs, Michelle suddenly said: “I finally saw my competitor, this tower is as beautiful as me.”

Anna Shatilova, like many Muscovites who are not even connected with the world of television, remembers well the dramatic fire that broke out on the tower in 2000. “I live on Olimpiyskiy Prospekt, at that time there were few houses there, and the tower was clearly visible from my window. And then I saw smoke. At first I thought – it seemed, but when I turned on the TV, everything became clear. I remember well how I went to work on a special route for several days, because there was a risk that the tower would fall towards the Botanical Garden.”

Nikolai Drozdov, just before the opening of the gallery of stars, remembered his friend Yuri Senkevich, to whom one of the memorable signs is dedicated. “Jura was a smoker, but he had to give up this habit while traveling on a papyrus boat with Thor Heyerdahl and his team. It was simply dangerous to smoke on such a ship,” Nikolai Nikolaevich said. – It’s a pity that then Yura lit up again. I’m sure if it weren’t for smoking, he would still be with us.”

New commemorative signs will soon be added to the first five stars of the new gallery. Moreover, the stars, which can be placed about a hundred, will be dedicated not only to people known for their work in the frame, but also to the legends of the television behind the scenes.
