Honored coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova, in a conversation with RIA Novosti, reacted to the statements of the American figure skater Ashley Wagner against the presence of Russian coaches at the World Cup in Japan.
Eteri Tutberidze, Sergey Dudakov and Daniil Gleikhengauz accompanied Daniel Grassle from Italy and Georgian figure skaters Maurice Kvitelashvili and Nika Egadze at the world championship.
The American in her social networks was outraged by the presence of Russian coaches at the World Cup.
Tarasova said to Wagner’s statement: “They just didn’t ask her where the Russian coaches should go and where not.”
At the same time, she added with sarcasm: “Next time we will ask her if we can drive.”
The honored coach was indignant: “Who is she? Fool is simple. Silly girl.”
On March 1 last year, against the background of the SVO, the Council of the International Skating Union suspended Russian and Belarusian figure skaters, speed skaters and short track skaters from participating in international competitions.
In June, the congress of the union approved this decision. It will remain in effect until further notice.
