Matvey Polubenkov from Tambov became the bronze medalist of the international show jumping tournament. Matvey is 13 years old and he is a graduate of the Sosnovsky equestrian club “Favorit”.
The final of the international tournament Victory Cup in equestrian sports took place in the Maxima Park CSC in the Moscow region. Among the participants, and there were 350 horse-rider pairs from Russia and Belarus, there was also a young resident of Tambov.
Matvey Polubenkov showed a worthy result in show jumping. He won bronze in international competitions.
The Victory Cup is an equestrian event dedicated to the feat of the people of the country in the Great Patriotic War. This season it took place for the fifth time.
This event was preceded by 86 stages that began last year and took place in 30 regions of Russia, as well as in Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. According to the coach Anastasia Polubenkova, Matvey brought 3 gold medals from the regional stage in the Voronezh region.
– In the final show jumping competitions in Moscow, Matvey Polubenkov showed his skills on a horse named Peter on a route with an obstacle height of 110 cm, – the government of the Tambov region reported.
Currently, there are several equestrian clubs in the region, where young Tambov residents can learn how to ride. According to the results of the 2022 sports season, Matvey Polubenkov was recognized as the best rider in the Tambov region in the Children category, and also took 10th position in the all-Russian rating.
Last year, the head of the Tambov region, Maxim Egorov, awarded Matvey Polubenkov among the gifted Tambov schoolchildren. And for his successful performance at the All-Russian competitions, he was awarded the Grant of the Government of the Tambov Region.
