Young basketball players from the Tambov region excelled at competitions in Anapa, where the “Minibasket” competition ended.

The competition was attended by teams of children born in 2013-2014 from more than 40 regions of Russia. Young Tambov residents from the children’s sports school, opened last year on the initiative of the head of the Tambov region Maxim Egorov, received medals in various disciplines.

Representatives of the Russian Basketball Federation emphasized the excellent level of training of Tambov athletes.

Pupils of Yuri the Great and Alexei Shestakov became the first in the 4×4 tournament. And in the overall standings among youth teams, according to the results of all competitions and competitions, young Tambov residents took second place, losing in points only to the Kremenkul Basket team from the Chelyabinsk region.

The Tambov basketball players were also given individual awards. Ivan Arkhipov was included in the symbolic five of the tournament for boys born in 2013-2014 and received an award in the “Team Style” nomination. Alexander Sirotin became the best player of the tournament.

Currently, several coaches work in the children’s sports school of BC Tambov, there are departments in Michurinsk and Kotovsk. More than 100 young residents of the region train in the sections.

A school basketball project is successfully operating in the region, which unites over 80 teams from different municipalities. In total, almost 17.5 thousand people play basketball in the region.
