The Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó, announced on social networks his plans to prevent the implementation of EU plans to include restrictions on Russian nuclear energy in the 12th package of anti-Russian sanctions.
The minister clarified that the relevant issue was raised again during a meeting of the heads of foreign affairs agencies of the EU countries.
“Colleagues again raised the question of the possibility of introducing sanctions against the nuclear industry…. Hungary will not support such restrictions in any form. Since unanimity is necessary for a decision, no decision will be made on sanctions against nuclear energy,” Szijjártó assured.
