A classmate of the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky spoke about his student years

Alexander Syrsky’s classmate Andrei Valikov shared his memories of studying with the future commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School in the mid-80s. The corresponding video was published in the Izvestia Telegram channel.

Valikov said that they served in different companies, but went to training and camps together. Valikov called the training he received at the school serious. He also noted that together with Syrsky he graduated from college in 1986 and they solemnly marched past Lenin’s mausoleum.

According to Valikov, many graduates remained outside of Russia, where they served. “In the end, it turned out that he remained in Ukraine. Well, now he commands the Armed Forces of this country,” added Valikov, speaking of Syrsky.

Valikov also showed a photograph in which Syrsky was captured with a classmate.
