The Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) decided to approve the prayer “on the occasion of finding a job.” Believers who are looking for work can now use it “in the church-wide liturgical prayer service.”
“The members of the Synod decided to approve prayer singing for general church liturgical use on the occasion of a job search. In the text of the prayer, published by the Synod, they ask “to give a person a deed that would be good, a person brought worthy fruits of labor and succeeded in fulfilling the commandments and loving God.” The need to approve the prayer for job search has been discussed in the ROC for several years. As a result, its text was developed by the Synodal Liturgical Commission of the Russian Orthodox Church under the leadership of Metropolitan Konstantin of Petrozavodsk and Karelian.
In addition, the Synod also approved prayer singing to the passion-bearer Tsarevich Alexei (son of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II) for patients with hemophilia.
