Symptoms of an unidentified disease revealed in residents of the Egyptian village of El Alikat

As a result of a survey of residents of the Egyptian village of El-Alikat, located south of Cairo, symptoms of an unknown disease were found. According to information provided by the Egyptian Ministry of Health on Sunday, the victims complain of fever, bone pain, nausea and dizziness.
To find out the cause of the disease, special medical teams were sent to provide preventive care and epidemiological surveillance. Samples were also taken from patients for testing, according to a statement posted on the Ministry of Health’s official social media page. It is emphasized that in no case hospitalization was required.
According to information published by the Al-Ahram newspaper, the authorities sent about 50 medical vehicles to the village, and samples of drinking water were taken for further analysis. Local publications report varying numbers of villagers complaining of symptoms of an unspecified disease, ranging from 200 to 1,000.
