Swimmer and athlete: about outstanding athletes from the Murmansk region

First of all, we cannot fail to mention the swimmer, master of sports of international class Pavel Samusenko from Polyarnye Zori. This summer he won a large number of medals: gold and two bronzes in Obninsk, gold and silver in Irkutsk, silver and bronze in Kazan, and another gold and two silvers in Kemerovo.
The professional swimmer is the 2021 world champion and a participant in the 2022 Spartakiad among the strongest athletes.
A favorite business began in childhood, when Pavel was taken to the pool. Mom supported her son in every possible way: thanks to her discipline and motivation, the northerner managed to achieve the first results.
Pavel became a master of sports at the age of 18, and at the end of 2022 he was one of the first to receive a special scholarship from the governor for the special success of local youth in sports activities.
In addition, athlete Alena Avtamonova in 2021 was the bronze medalist of the Russian championship in Cheboksary in the 400-meter run, and at the championship of the Murmansk region she won gold at distances of 60, 200 and 400 meters.
Another polar athlete, Ksenia Makarova, won first place at the 100 and 200 meters distances at the Russian championship.
In 2021, Dmitry Sitnikov, a representative of equestrian sport rare for the region, won silver medals at the open traditional Moscow Cup and the All-Russian Spartakiade of the Special Olympics of Russia.
