SVO fighters called for the deportation of the school director who did not honor the memory of the deceased graduate

“This is not a cemetery for you”

In Omsk, a scandal surrounding the veneration of the memory of fellow countryman Alexei Yamshchikov, who died in the Northern Military District, is gaining momentum. The director of school No. 87, where the fighter studied, refused to install a memorial plaque with his name on the school building. In response, Northern Military District veterans called for director Marina Kovalenko to be deported to Ukraine.

“We came to the school director Marina Vyacheslavovna Kovalenko,” veterans of the Northern Military District tell the situation. – To our amazement, we heard the following words: “If we hang everyone, there won’t be enough walls. This is not a cemetery for you.”

On December 12, veterans published an online appeal to the mayor of Omsk with a request to sort out the situation. Officials approached the director for an explanation of the problem. To which Marina Vyacheslavovna said that the initiators really came to the school, but did not provide the necessary package of documents to install the memorial plaque.

However, in their video message, the fighters emphasized that they had three permits: from the district administration, the property department and the military registration and enlistment office. They provided these documents to the school.

The mayor of the city, Sergei Shelest, in turn, explained that the documents collected by the fighters were not enough. The decision to install a memorial plaque requires a decision from a “special commission,” so he instructed the city administration to assemble it as soon as possible.

Sergei Shelest assured that relatives of SVO participants and initiative groups of citizens can at any time seek help with collecting documents from him personally, as well as from city council deputies and district administrations.

However, this was not the end of the matter. In their appeal, Northern Military District veterans called the director an “ideological enemy” and called for Marina Kovalenko to be deported to her relatives in Ukraine. The school director considered these words a violation of her rights and filed a statement with the police.

Calls to deport Marina Vyacheslavovna because of her Ukrainian surname were treated with humor at the school itself.

– In Rus’, from ancient times they said that every Russian is a quarter Tatar. Probably, a quarter of Russians have a last name ending in “o,” says the mother of a student at school No. 87. “So, should we deport everyone?”

The website of the educational institution states that Marina Vyacheslavovna graduated from Omsk Pedagogical University in 1999, and then completed her master’s degree. He has 33 years of teaching experience. He has held the position of director for 12 years.

The deceased fighter Alexey Yamshchikov studied at school for eight years – from 1986 to 1994. Then he graduated from a pedagogical college and moved to Norilsk. From here he went to the Northern Military District and died near Artemovsk. Was awarded the medal “For Courage”. Alexey left behind a wife and two children.

“We will definitely pay tribute to the memory of this guy, as well as other Omsk residents who died for the future of our country, our children and grandchildren. “I consider this our sacred duty,” the mayor assured.

According to Omsk journalists, memorial plaques, as well as stands and exhibitions in memory of SVO participants, have already been made in 43 schools in the city. Some buildings have several memorials. Some educational institutions are named after deceased SVO participants – graduates of these educational institutions. In addition, memorial plaques are installed in colleges, universities and places of work of non-returning soldiers.
