The legendary announcer shocked the audience not only with a beautiful voice, but also with luxurious outfits. But in recent years, everything has changed. The star began to lead a reclusive lifestyle. She does not go out and rarely communicates with friends even on the phone.

Morgunova’s life was divided into “before” and “after” two and a half years ago. Then, in May 2020, the only son of the TV personality Maxim died. He left due to complications from the coronavirus. The man’s life ended at 52. When he had the first symptoms of covid, he was too late to go to the doctors.

For Morgunova, the death of her son was a great shock. She could not recover from the tragedy for a long time: she became haggard, aged and completely stopped appearing in public.

Now 82-year-old Svetlana Morgunova almost never leaves the house. TV people sometimes invite her to shoot in Ostankino, but she categorically refuses to participate in them.

– Svetlana Mikhailovna, you have a birthday in a month. With what mood do you approach the holiday?

– None.

– Are you going to celebrate?

– No, I will not. Because I do not want.

– What are you doing now?

– I’m watching TV.

– I hear that you have a political program turned on. Are you interested in political news now?

– Yes.

– How do you feel?

– Normal.

Svetlana Mikhailovna’s voice, of course, is no longer the same as before. She speaks in a low voice, choosing her words carefully. It is clear from the voice that every word is given to Morgunova with great difficulty.

Answering the question whether the audience will ever see her on stage again, Morgunova did not. After a couple of seconds, she said goodbye.
