Sverdlovsk police denied information about the arrest of forest arsonists

The police of the Sverdlovsk region denied the information that people were detained in the region for setting fire to the forest.
“Rumors about arsonists are deliberately spread by those who want to scare citizens and create panic,” Valery Gorelykh, head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sverdlovsk Region, told Kommersant. According to Colonel Gorelykh, during the holidays from May 1 to May 9, six administrative cases were initiated under Part 3 of Art. 8.32 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of fire safety rules in forests).
Since May 5, a state of emergency has been in effect in the forests of the region. Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev called the situation with the fires in the region critical and said that the region had requested federal assistance to fight them. In the village of Pervomaisky, fire destroyed two warehouses with gunpowder with a total area of 960 square meters. The rescuers had to urgently evacuate about 400 people from the village.
Over the May weekend in the Sverdlovsk region revealed more than 200 fire safety violations. As of the morning of May 10, there are 57 natural fires in the region, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
At the end of April, fires in settlements also raged in the region. One of the strongest was in the village of Sosva, where burned down about a hundred houses.
