Suspended sentences for selling low-quality gasoline

The courts considered the case for more than four years

The Zamoskvoretsky Court of the capital handed down the sentence to entrepreneurs accused of trading in low-quality fuel. All business participants received suspended sentences.

Let us recall that the story began back in September 2018 with an inspection of gasoline sold by the Sibirneft gas station network. The head of the Nefttorgservis company, which owns the network, Alexander Vozyagin, as well as other managers, his brother Evgeniy, daughter Olga and the fourth defendant in the case, Viktor Milekhin, sold low-quality gasoline to the Orekhovo-Zuevsky municipal enterprise. According to investigators, the amount of sulfur in the gasoline sold was several times higher than the standards, and this led to a breakdown of the equipment of the enterprise, which in December 2017 entered into a long-term contract with Neftorgservis for the supply of fuel.

The management of the enterprise rejected the accusation, claiming that this was just the machinations of competitors: Neftorgservis refused to sell its gas stations to a larger company. The company’s website states that there are currently 24 gas stations operating under the Sibirneft brand in Moscow, Moscow, Ryazan, Vladimir and Penza regions. Despite the defense’s objections, the court sided with the prosecution.

As the press service of the court told MK, the head of the company received a 5-year suspended sentence, his brother Evgeniy received a 3-year and 3-month sentence, and two other defendants received a 3-year suspended sentence.
