Hockey players Maxim Sushko and Luke Lockhart staged a fist fight during the Sibir match against the Chinese Kunlun in the new LDS. A video of the fight was published by KHL resources.
The game was quite intense. In the second period, Maxim Sushko flew into the opponent’s zone and crashed into Tyler Vaughn, causing him to fly to the boards. “Sibiryak” earned a two-minute penalty, but that wasn’t the end of the matter. Luke Lockhart stood up for his teammate. The hockey players grappled and began punching each other in the head, and then fell to the ice.
During the fight, Yura Shatunov’s song “White Roses” was heard throughout the Sibir Arena, causing the commentator to compare what was happening to a fight at discos in the 80s.
Both players received a five-minute penalty for the brawl.
Earlier, MK in Novosibirsk reported that “Siberia” beat Chinese “Kunlun” 3:2 in a home match.
