Supporters of the ex-President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, seized the Congress building in the country’s capital, the city of Brasilia. This is reported by the portal G1.
According to the portal, the radicals invaded the National Congress after a clash with the military police. They armed themselves with sticks and stones. The police try to disperse them using pepper spray and stun grenades.
The newspaper Folha reports that the protesters did not stay long in the congress building and have already left it.
Bolsonaro’s supporters have been protesting the country’s election results since the end of last year. They were won by 77-year-old Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, who already held the presidency from 2003 to 2011.
