The Moscow City Pedagogical University (MSPU) allowed students to use artificial intelligence technologies when writing final qualification works (WQR). About it reported university press office.
“Prohibiting use is the easiest way, but hardly effective. If in the future our graduates still cannot avoid using this tool, it is better to learn how to use it correctly while studying at the university,” said the rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University Igor Remorenko, his words are given in a press release.
Mr. Remorenko added that direct cheating remains unacceptable and students “should be critical about the transfer of information from automated systems to the WRC.”
In February, the story of a student of the Russian State Humanitarian University who defended his thesis written with the help of artificial intelligence caused a wide public outcry. The university then called for restricting access to the chatbot and promised to check the work of the graduate again, and the Ministry of Education suggested universities to think about changing the approach to testing students’ knowledge.
