Student Hockey Champions Cup kicks off in Sochi

The Champions Cup of the Student Hockey League has started in Sochi. The tournament with the participation of 8 previous winners and prize-winners of the championship and championship of the SHL is hosted by the Iceberg Ice Sports Palace.
The teams are divided into 2 groups. In the opening match of the tournament, Derzhava players from Tambov State University and the team of the Ural State University of Physical Education met. The team from Tambov was able to win the shootout after regular time and overtime ended with a score of 3:3.
The Cup is timed to coincide with the II Congress of Young Scientists. Competitions are held during the celebration of the All-Russian Hockey Day. It is celebrated on December 1st.
The current champion of the SHL is “Polytechnic” from the South Ural State University.
The Iceberg Tournament will end on December 4th.
Previously, the Sochi team for the first time in its history won Cup of the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory in handball among men’s teams.
