Three gold medals were won by Yamal athletes at the Russian Cup in powerlifting (triathlon and classical triathlon) among men and women. This was reported on October 21 in the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the YNAO.
Ivan Goryachev became the winner (in equipment) in the 120 kilo weight category with a score of 1042.5 kg. Levon Tavakalov won gold in the 120 kg weight category with a score of 877.5 kg. Alexey Zinurov took first place in the 93 kg category with a score of 785.5 kilos.
Strongmen are training at the November sports school of the Olympic reserve “Altis” under the guidance of Andrey Flegantov and Roman Bakhshiev. Competitions are held from 14 to 23 October in Kaluga. 300 athletes from five regions of Russia participate.
