Streets in honor of Daria Dugina and Alexander Zakharchenko appeared in Melitopol

In Melitopol in the Zaporozhye region, part of the streets were renamed, the mayor of the city Galina Danilchenko said in her Telegram. The corresponding decree (.pdf) Ms. Danilchenko signed on 7 April.
As follows from the document, Independence Street was renamed the street of the first head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, Universitetskaya street – the street of journalist Daria Dugina. Also, Petro Poroshenko Street was renamed into Gorky Street, Medovaya – into Gaidar Street, Heroes of Ukraine Street – into Kirov Street, Ukrainian – into Sovetskaya. The streets of the Russian Guard, one of the leading employees of the VChK-GPU-NKVD Israel Dagin, the first head of the USSR Vladimir Lenin and a number of others also appeared in the city.
“The opinions of Melitopol residents were taken into account, including those that you wrote to me on social networks, as well as the opinions of historians, appeals from labor collectives and public organizations. The experts agreed that the main thing for us is the preservation of historical memory, our true history and truth,” wrote Galina Danilchenko.
