NATO has not yet observed any changes in the state of readiness of Russian nuclear forces, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said.

“We are in contact with the Russian side and are closely monitoring its actions. So far, we have not observed any change in Russian nuclear strategy and the readiness of its forces. However, we continue to closely monitor the situation and remain vigilant,” said Stoltenberg (quote according to TASS).

Pot, he said, Russia will not be able to win in a nuclear conflict, and the use of nuclear weapons by Moscow will have “unprecedented consequences” for it.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said earlier today that in the event of a threat to the country’s territorial integrity, all available means of protection will be used. He emphasized that “this is not a bluff.” He promised that “the territorial integrity of our Motherland, our independence and freedom will be ensured.”

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stated that the use of nuclear weapons by Russia in Ukraine is impossible, since this does not correspond to the tasks of a military special operation. The department noted that the Russian side firmly adheres to the principles according to which “there can be no winners in a nuclear war and it should not be unleashed.”

In February, President Vladimir Putin instructed Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov to place the Russian deterrence forces on a special alert regime. These include, among other things, strategic nuclear forces.
