Politico: new EU anti-Russian sanctions could hit diamond imports

How informs Politico, citing four EU diplomats, the upcoming package of sanctions against Russia may include measures to limit the import of Russian diamonds and other luxury goods.
“As early as Friday, September 23, the European Commission will begin consultations with representatives of the countries of the European Union on the upcoming package of sanctions,” the report says.
It is clarified that restrictions on prices for Russian oil before the entry into force of the EU ban on the import of this energy resource from Russia in December, as well as a ban on the import of Russian diamonds and other luxury goods, can be considered as pressure measures.
In addition, it is planned to expand the lists of individuals subject to EU sanctions.
