Stoltenberg: preserving Ukraine's independence as possible with NATO support

Introducing a clause that secures the position of Ukraine as an independent state of Europe into a peace treaty between Moscow and Kyiv is possible only if NATO continues to support it. This was announced by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Jens Stoltenberg.

“If we want the peace treaty to consolidate the position on which Ukraine will win as a sovereign, independent, democratic state in Europe, we must ensure its support,” the head of the military bloc said.

Recall that after the start of the special military operation, the Russian and Ukrainian sides held talks in Turkey in March, but the peace treaty was never signed. At the same time, after some time, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky completely banned negotiations with Russia while Vladimir Putin is its head of state.
