Vologda orienteer Stepan Malinovsky takes part in the Russian championship. The tournament started today in the city of Yugorsk. About 400 athletes came there from 23 regions of the country.
So, the representative of the Vologda region immediately showed his attitude to the competition. At the very first distance “cross-country skiing – long – general start” Stepan Malinovsky took second place and won the silver medal.
According to the winner himself, the start was very difficult due to severe frost and low snowfall. Some of the athletes even left the race. Stepan himself also had such thoughts, since he had frostbite on his face and was very cold. However, having gathered his will into a fist, the Vologda resident not only ran to the finish line, but also took the award. Tomorrow the Vologda orienteer will have another race.
We add that just a few days ago, Stepan Malinovsky completed his performance in the Russian Cup, where he won two bronze medals.
