Requirements for the transportation of stem and other cells intended for transplantation were approved by the State Standard. Clear rules for the delivery of cellular material from the sender to the recipient have not yet been developed. The new GOST fills this gap.
As it became known to MK, the standard establishes requirements for transport packaging, accompanying documentation and even the appearance of the personnel of the sending organization, the transport company and the receiving organization of the biomaterial. The shipping packaging is the actual cages, container and label. It is recommended that the container consists of three layers: primary, secondary and outer. Between the second and third layer there should be a shock-absorbing layer. The standard establishes 6 temperature modes of transportation: from ultra-low (below minus 150 degrees) to the human body temperature range (from 32 to 38 degrees). Dry ice, liquid nitrogen, or a mechanical system may be used for cooling. Each container is assigned a unique identifier that allows you to trace the path of the cells from the donor or laboratory (if the cells were obtained, for example, using genetic engineering) to the recipient. The label must contain: information about the cargo, sender, recipient, methods of handling the cargo, information for action in emergency situations. Throughout the route, the movement of containers must be tracked using GPS.
