The automatic interplanetary station “Luna-25”, launched on August 11, conducted the first survey of the lunar surface.
The published frame captures the south polar crater Zeeman, located on the far side of the moon.
According to Roscosmos, the shooting was carried out by television cameras of the STS-L complex on Thursday morning Moscow time. It is also reported that the station equipment measured the fluxes of gamma rays and neutrons coming from the Earth’s satellite, and obtained the parameters of the gas and dust exosphere and space plasma in orbit.
Earlier, Roscosmos announced that the landing of Luna-25 at the satellite’s South Pole is scheduled for August 21.
