State services resumed accepting applications for the issuance of biometric passports
[ad_1]
The State Services Portal has resumed accepting applications for the issuance of an international passport with an electronic storage medium (with a service life of up to 10 years). It is reported by TASS. Applications for their issuance were suspended in February due to high demand for microcircuits.
Previously, when trying to submit an application, the message “The international passport of a new sample is temporarily not issued” popped up. The application process is now available again.
Acceptance of applications for the issuance of new passports was stopped on February 2. The Gosznak explained this by “reconfiguring the equipment” for the microcircuits necessary for the manufacture of the document. A few months before that, Gosznak recorded an increased demand for passports, and, as a result, microcircuits for them.
More about this – in the material “Passports lack chips”.
