The Governor of the Tyumen region, Alexander Moor, declared a state of emergency (ES) due to wildfires. The regime has been introduced throughout the region. Mr. Moor announced this in a video message.

“Taking into account the current situation, I have decided to introduce a state of emergency throughout the Tyumen region from today,”— declared governor.

Alexander Moor recalled that a very tense situation has been developing in the region in recent days due to fires. “Every day we record new pockets of landscape, forest fires, all this is exacerbated by very hot dry weather and strong winds,” Mr. Moor said.

The entire personnel of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, more than 1.1 thousand employees of the regional fire service and Avialesookhrana were involved in extinguishing fires, and 130 professional firefighters from other regions were also involved. The fires are extinguished by five helicopters, one Il-76 plane, the governor says in an urgent appeal to the residents of the region.

“Fire is also spreading to residential buildings, to our settlements, in most cases, the causes of fire are still arson, the human factor,” said Alexander Moor and asked residents to comply with all fire prevention measures, including not going into the forest, not leaving to picnics and not to make open fires in summer cottages.

The news is being added.
