City administration of Buynaksk introduced state of emergency (ES) to eliminate the consequences of a hailstorm that took place in this Dagestan city on June 17.
On Saturday, a high alert regime was introduced in the city and operational working groups were formed to collect information about those affected by the disaster. Today, June 19, a decision was made to cancel the high alert regime and introduce an emergency regime in the city.
According to the mayor’s office, as of Sunday 18:00, the city administration received more than 2,000 applications from Buynaksk residents whose homes were affected by the disaster, asking for help in eliminating its consequences.
Today about the work on assessing the damage caused by a downpour with hail, the head of Dagestan reported head of the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations Nariman Kazimagamedov. By Monday morning, 750 households were surveyed, acts were drawn up for 33 apartment buildings.
The life support facilities of the population in the city are functioning normally, the head of the rescue department reported.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations warned the residents of Buynaksk about the launch of drones over the territory of the city for video recording of damage to the roof of residential premises. The department appealed to the townspeople with a convincing request to “treat with understanding” to the ongoing work.
