State Duma Deputy Stenyakina proposed to create a list of artists with a ban on state funding

A list of those artists who should not receive state funding should appear in Russia. This proposal was made by State Duma deputy Ekaterina Stenyakina. These artists will have no access to cultural venues and projects funded by the state treasury, they will not be shown on federal channels.
Stenyakina thus supported her colleague in the State Duma, the head of the Duma Committee on Culture, Elena Yampolskaya. She proposed not to deprive the state awards of artists opposing Russia, but to cut them off from any funding.
Stenyakina added that the list of such “figures” of culture should be public. This measure, according to the deputy, will be fair, as people should know those who betrayed the country.
“This is not censorship, but a logical reaction to disgusting, in my opinion, behavior,” Stenyakina clarified.
