He recalled that yesterday’s metallurgists and miners became the club’s players at different times. Moreover, Shakhtar will not be revived for the first time. After the Great Patriotic War, only three athletes returned from the front, and the team had to be recruited again.
“Every effort should be made to preserve the brand, and most importantly, the spirit of the team, which should again become the hallmark of sports Donbass,” Paikin emphasized.
At the end of December last year, General Director of Shakhtar Donetsk Sergey Palkin declaredthat FIFA is “killing Ukrainian football”. The federation requires the club to reimburse €50 million, which the athletes do not have.
