State Duma deputies from three regions continue to use foreign cars

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, at a meeting of the chamber council on Monday, informed his colleagues about how the provision of deputies with domestic cars for work in the regions is going on. reported press service of the State Duma.
“To date, 38 regions have already provided deputies with Russian cars,” the speaker said. “Another 34 constituent entities of the Russian Federation are providing cars of foreign brands, but manufactured in Russia until 2022.” And this process will continue; as cars become obsolete, domestically produced cars will be purchased. A number of regions have not concluded a lease agreement for transport services, since there are no applications from deputies, including from new territories.”
In three constituent entities of the Russian Federation – Ingushetia, Amur and Kaliningrad regions – State Duma deputies “are still provided with foreign-made cars,” Mr. Volodin noted. In this regard, he instructed to send a “notification to these regions with a requirement to rectify the situation,” the press service reports.
Let us recall that in September last year the Duma Council, with the support of all five factions, adopted solution that starting from 2024, deputies will be provided only with Russian-made cars to work in constituencies.
