The State Duma Committee on Education approved for the second reading billaccording to which graduates of the 11th grade, who graduated from school with two “good” grades, will be able to receive a silver medal.
Amendments to the second reading are planned to be introduced into the draft law on the mandatory involvement of schoolchildren in socially useful work, submitted for consideration in May. According to the document, in order to receive a medal “For Special Achievement in Teaching” of the II degree, a graduate must receive no more than two marks “good” and the rest “excellent”.
Another amendment to the second reading is the change in the name of the school discipline “Fundamentals of Life Safety” (OBZH) to “Fundamentals of Security and Defense of the Motherland.” The amendments also introduce “career guidance” classes, which, according to the authors, will help schoolchildren choose a profession, for example, through excursions to enterprises.
The document was introduced for consideration by the deputies of the State Duma, headed by the chairman of the committee on education, Olga Kazakova, at the end of May, then adopted in the first reading in June. According to Ms. Kazakova, the mandatory participation of students in socially useful work means planting trees and flowers on the school grounds, participating in class decoration for events, helping out in the library, etc. In May 2022, deputies of the State Council made a proposal to introduce compulsory labor education Udmurtia. In their appeal to the State Duma and the government of the Russian Federation, they pointed to the positive experience of the Soviet school in educating a society that loves work, and proposed to return school workshops, industrial parks, student production teams, labor teams, summer labor and recreation camps to educational use.
