The State Duma Committee approved a draft on the possibility of conscripting citizens with a criminal record during the period of mobilization
The draft law, which proposes for the period of mobilization, martial law, to establish the possibility of conscription for military service of citizens with a criminal record, the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on Defense recommended for adoption in the first reading. In the text of the legislators, an exception is made for those convicted of serious crimes.
Earlier, a relevant bill was submitted to the parliament – the authors of the initiative are the head of this committee, Andrey Kartapolov, and his first deputy, Andrey Krasov.
