According to US State Department Speaker Matthew Miller, Washington will closely monitor the results of the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. He noted that the US authorities could impose new sanctions against Moscow and Pyongyang if they agree on arms supplies.
“I would like to remind both countries that any transfer of weapons from North Korea to Russia would be a violation of several UN Security Council resolutions,” he said.
Miller stressed that the United States is ready “without a doubt” to apply new sanctions against both countries.
