State Department: The United States will ensure Russia’s participation in the APEC summit, taking into account sanctions

The United States is working to ensure Russia’s participation in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in an orderly manner, but subject to sanctions. This was stated by the US State Department, transmits “RIA News”.
“We will, of course, work to ensure proper participation of all APEC economies, including Russia,” they noted.
The State Department clarified that Russia’s participation in the summit will take place “taking into account sanctions.” They also could not answer who could represent Russia at the upcoming event. The department explained that it does not have information about the participants in the 2023 summit.
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov declaredthat Russia will independently determine the level of its participation in the APEC summit. At that time, according to the diplomat, Moscow had not yet received an invitation to the event. The Kremlin previously said that they would inform in a timely manner who would go from Russia to the summit.
The APEC summit will be held this year from November 11 to 17 in San Francisco. The forum includes 19 countries and two territories, including Russia, China, USA, Japan, Canada, etc.
