State Department: Iran took a step back in JCPOA talks

According to the head of the US State Department, Anthony Blinken, the Iranian authorities have taken a step back in negotiations with the “five plus one” group on the restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Tehran’s nuclear program.
Now the State Department considers it unlikely that there will be a chance to conclude an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program in the short term.
“The response of the Iranian side to the proposals that were put forward by the EU countries is obviously a step backwards. Therefore, it is unlikely that we will reach any agreements on these issues in the short term,” he said.
