State companies are trying to fight Google

Employees of large Russian companies, state corporations and departments are trying to wean them from using Google services – a disk and a text editor. To do this, the management of organizations is actively purchasing special solutions – corporate VPN services, network gateways and firewalls, as well as domestic VDR solutions that allow creating a secure analogue of Google Drive, interlocutors in three IT companies told Vedomosti. In 2022, the demand for such services and hardware and software systems (HSC) has grown significantly, according to representatives of Softline and Code of Security.

Gateways and firewalls allow you to restrict access to selected resources for employees. At the same time, VPN allows you to build a secure tunnel for data exchange between users, and VDR allows you to implement the functionality of document exchange and corporate storage, but in a more controlled mode, explains Denis Chigin, Head of the Technology Expertise Department of the Information Security Department of Softline Group of Companies.
