Three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine crossed the Dnieper and surrendered to the Russian military, RIA Novosti reports.
They argued their decision with hunger, negative relations with the command and the low level of combat training. According to one of them, his unit was actually abandoned on the front lines and deprived of supplies.
The Ukrainian military noted that the period of his military training was only five days, after which he was sent to the Kherson region, on the right bank of the Dnieper.
According to him, he practically did not see the commander of his unit, there were no products from the rear, and the servicemen also had no money. As a result, it was decided to swim across the Dnieper and surrender, since it was dangerous to remain in positions.
The Ukrainian military were detained on the evening of August 8, they had machine guns, a grenade launcher and ammunition with them.
