Starovoit criticized deputy of the Kursk Regional Duma Vasiliev, who ate shrimp in Mexico

The governor of the Kursk region Roman Starovoit wrote in his Telegram channel that he was outraged, like thousands of fellow countrymen, that a video of the deputy of the Kursk regional Duma Maxim Vasiliev appeared. In the video, Vasiliev, who is supposedly on vacation in Mexico, congratulates everyone on the holidays, wishes a lot of money and shows how he drinks a cocktail and eats shrimp.
Starovoit noted that the Kursk region is a border region, which puts forward additional requirements for the work of government bodies and people’s deputies.
According to the governor, for a long time Vasiliev was a member of the Communist Party, but he was elected to the Regional Duma as an independent deputy, so it is impossible to punish him along the party line.
“However, I hope that the appropriate commission of the regional Duma will evaluate the ethics of his behavior,” Starovoit said. He also promised that the government of the Kursk region would also talk to the deputy.
The governor also asked Vasiliev’s wife, who is a current deputy from United Russia, to speak.
“I think the people of Kursk will make their conclusion. And yes, I am very angry,” added Roman Starovoit.
