VK “Sparta” did not end the 2022-2023 season in the elite division of Russian women’s volleyball in the most successful way. Volleyball players from Nizhny Novgorod took the final 12th place out of 14 teams, which is an unsatisfactory result. Changes are ripe in the structure of the Nizhny Novgorod club, Slobodan Radivojevic, who has held the position of head coach since 2017, left the team.
Now in the history of VK “Sparta” begins a new chapter. The team was headed by Belarusian specialist Stanislav Vladimirovich Salikov. He worked in the coaching staff of the Belarusian national team, Dynamo Krasnodar and Uralochka-NTMK.
As a head coach, he achieved the greatest success while heading Minsker. With a team from Belarus, Stanislav Salikov twice became the champion of Belarus and the owner of the national cup. In the Russian Superleague, Stanislav Salikov led “Minchanka” to the best result in history, then his team took 5th place in the regular season.
