60-year-old Russian coach Stanislav Cherchesov was included in the short list of candidates for the position of head of the coaching staff of the Azerbaijan Football Federation. In addition to him, two more people were shortlisted. The Azerbaijani side is still at the stage of selecting a candidate and has not yet made an official proposal to any of the candidates.
Let us remember that Cherchesov’s last place of work was the Hungarian club Ferencvaros. Since July 2023, a Russian specialist has been working for me. From 2016 to 2021, he led the Russian national team and managed to lead it to the quarterfinals of the home world championship.
