Spring aggravation or cunning plan of destructive forces?

This question was answered by the participants of a press conference in the DOS, the topic of discussion at which was the arrests of teenagers throughout the country who identify themselves as members of the Ryodan PMC youth subculture.

The reason for the arrests was mass brawls in shopping centers, including Moscow’s Aviapark and Marcos Mall. The Ryodan online communities unite fans of the manga comics and anime Hunter X Hunter, where members of the Genei Ryodan criminal group act as antiheroes. This subculture is accused of inciting ethnic hatred and attacks on national minorities and representatives of other subcultures. The Ryodan communities themselves on social media deny these accusations.

As one of the participants in the press conference, the executive director of the National Parents’ Committee, Yuriy Obolonsky, noted, of course, I would like to attribute everything that is happening to the spring exacerbation and the game of hormones, but, in fact, “we are watching the creation of another destructive youth group.” According to Yuri Obolonsky, some very professional people are doing this, “dispersing the topic”:

“Let’s start with the name, in which the abbreviation “PMC” appears. Those who promoted all this calculated that it was relevant, fashionable, and associations with the Wagner PMC would immediately arise. The one who did this created a model for promotion in advance, and it is clear that a highly qualified specialist worked here, who, most likely, had previously dealt with pre-election technologies and brand promotion. Therefore, in 2-3 weeks this topic was very quickly dispersed. I watched as all this diverged through the scheme of telegram channels. At the same time, I was once again surprised at the work of our service, which monitors the information policy, which for some reason did not block these information channels.”

As Yuri Obolonsky suggested, it is quite possible that the organizers of this community also pursued some financial interests:

“Before our eyes, a certain brand was created and promoted, which, most likely, will be very well monetized. But for me, as a representative of the parent community, this is, first of all, another destructive force that will promote those values ​​that our children do not need at all.”

However, as another participant in the press conference, the director of the anti-crisis psychological center, psychoanalyst Irina Smolyarchuk, noted, if we consider this phenomenon only as a result of external pernicious influence, we will not understand its deep nature associated with adolescent psychology:

“Absolutely at all times, teenagers are consolidated into some kind of clans. Previously, they were skinheads, and goths, and hippies … With this behavior, teenagers are trying to earn the approval of their leader, the instigator. They unite in such communities when they do not feel support from adults; this happens when there is no reliance on the adult community, when there is no dialogue with it. Finding no support, teenagers are now trying to survive not at the expense of the quality of life, but at the expense of quantitative consolidation, uniting in a flock. The aggressive behavior of children in this situation – fights unleashed precisely in public places, and not in doorways – is a pure challenge to society, such a kind of request for attention.

Of course, there is a completely understandable temptation to block all information channels, disperse everyone home, roughly punish the instigators, and thus stop the disgrace … But, as emphasized by Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education Yevgeny Yamburg, who also took part in the discussion, this is ugly the phenomenon has become a kind of manifestation of the processes taking place in society: according to him, it is enough just to turn on the TV to see that today the atmosphere in society is full of hatred and intolerance. And it is useless to ban something, block information channels, since, in the words of the academician, we have been living in a “glass house” for a long time, where nothing can be concealed or hidden for a long time …
