But the Orange-and-Blacks, alas, missed a great opportunity – 57:59.
– I am very grateful to the fans for the fact that they remained in the stands until the end of the match and drove the team forward. So, they liked the game, – said the head coach of Energia Evgeny Snigiryov. – You can look at the duel from two points of view. On the scoreboard, the score is not in our favor: to yield only “minus two” is very disappointing. But according to the game, the girls were worthy of victory. “Kazanochka” is a very strong opponent, but we coped with almost all of its leaders. The tasks for the meeting were completed in full.
Yana Golyakova (15 points) and Ekaterina Kuzmenkova (11 points + 13 rebounds) became the most productive for Energia. It is worth noting the actions of captain Ekaterina Kuznetsova (12 points), who, due to injury, could not finish the game to the end.
On October 15, at 19:30, the orange-and-blacks will again play the first match in the 1/8 finals of the Russian Cup against one of the strongest Russian teams from Syktyvkar, Nika, at the largest sports arena in the region, the Palace of team sports. Energia’s rival last season became the finalist of the Russian Cup and is one of the leading teams in the Premier League. Nika is represented by the leader of the Russian women’s team, one of the most famous basketball players in the country, Raisa Musina, as well as Alexandra Marchenkova and Polina Fedorova, who previously played for the orange-and-blacks.
