The Regional Committee for Physical Culture and Sports informs that in the Davydovsky microdistricts of Kostroma, the construction of a skating court for the sports school of the Olympic reserve named after Alexander Golubev is being completed.
The new base for skaters should become the fifth (and the largest in the region) training ground for young skaters from Kostroma — the length of its running track will be 250 meters.
At the moment, the readiness level of the base reaches 90% – the main building itself has already been erected, refrigeration units have been installed, locker rooms, coaching rooms and an inventory warehouse have been equipped.
A completely new sports facility, for the construction of which 150 million rubles were spent under the national project “Sport is the norm of life”, will be ready by September 1. Starting from the new academic year, 200 future speed skaters-champions will start training there.
Moreover, young athletes will be able to train all year round. In summer – roller skating, in winter – ice skating.
In addition, as the director of the sports school of the Olympic reserve Oleg Chentsov promised, in the winter, on weekends and holidays, mass skating for everyone will be organized at the new skating base.
