Sports childhood: the development of sports for the younger generation was discussed in Veliky Novgorod

A meeting of the organizing committee of the Children’s Sports project took place in Veliky Novgorod. At the meeting, the priority of the development of mass sports was emphasized.
The meeting was held by a member of the Presidium of the Regional Political Council, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Novgorod Region Elena Kirilova. The meeting was also attended by the heads of regional and municipal departments of sports, education, the leadership of local administrations and municipal political councils.
According to Kirilova, the development of mass sports among the population remains a priority.
“This year open school playgrounds will be equipped in Borovichi, Okulovka and Staraya Russa. A new direction in the infrastructure along the line of the Ministry of Sports is “arrangement of “smart” sites”. This year, 3 such innovative facilities will appear in Veliky Novgorod, Borovichi and Pestovsky districts,”
– shared the Deputy Prime Minister.
She also stressed the importance of completing all work on time.
The improvement of sports grounds at schools is promised to be completed before Children’s Day – June 1.
Also in the summer, during the holidays, various sports events, indoor football and basketball festivals will be held for children.
The project is also being implemented in the direction of “School sports”. It covers 41.5% of Novgorod schoolchildren. Within the framework of this direction, interesting promotions are held for schoolchildren, for example, “Five for Five”. It provides for the encouragement of excellent students in physical education for jogging around the Kremlin together with participants in the RunPark movement. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Sports of the Novgorod region.
Another area to involve children in sports was the sports film festival. It was held in honor of the celebration of Victory Day. The children were shown six films about the sports history of Russia.
