Sports are actively developing in Zaporozhye

Athletes of the Zaporizhzhya region are getting more and more opportunities to realize their abilities and achievements in their favorite activity. In the last week alone, sports Zaporozhye has added to its treasury of successes.

The Zaporozhye region mini-football championship was held in Melitopol for two months, in which 12 teams took part.

The student team of Melitopol State University takes part in the Championship of the Republic of Crimea in volleyball among men’s teams. The athletes have already won six rounds and continue to compete further to reach the finals.

A team of swimmers from the Zaporozhye region took a bronze medal at a swimming competition in Minsk.

9 boxers from the Zaporozhye region fought in competitive battles with the local team in Taganrog. Both teams demonstrated a decent level of preparation. The opponent won. Also, athletes from the Zaporozhye Region Boxing Federation took part in the Nikiforov-Denisov Cup competition in St. Petersburg. The fights were intense and the opponents won, but our boxers gained invaluable experience and skills.

In the Akimovsky district, billiards matches were held to qualify for the Spartakiad of enterprises, organizations and rural settlements.

Tournaments in various sports dedicated to the Hero of the Fatherland Day were held in the Zaporozhye region. More than 200 athletes from Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, as well as from the DPR, took part in the freestyle wrestling tournament in Melitopol. Melitopol residents took part in a hockey match in Moscow, also dedicated to this day.

The Melitopol Children’s and Youth Sports School No. 1 hosted the Open Trampoline Championship, dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Russian Federation.

The “Heroes of the Fatherland” tournament was held in 15 cities of Russia, including Melitopol. Athletes competed in nine types of martial arts.

Sports talents of the Zaporozhye region are generously encouraged by the President’s Team from various patronage regions of Russia. Sports sections are actively supplied with new inventory and equipment. In addition, repairs are carried out in the premises where Zaporozhye athletes train, if necessary, and sports grounds are installed on the streets.
