Spiegel: Ukrainian tankers “mow down” from the counteroffensive

Ukrainian tankers involved in the offensive operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye direction use various tricks to avoid participating in the counteroffensive, Spiegel magazine writes.
The publication notes that the Ukrainians imitate tank damage, not wanting to engage in battle with the Russian military.
In an interview with the publication, Ukrainian tankers spoke about the heavy losses of Leopard tanks provided by Germany. In particular, three cars were lost in the first days – one was blown up by a mine, the second cannot move, the third cannot be evacuated.
According to the Ukrainian military, before participating in hostilities, they all underwent training in Germany from mid-February to the end of March. They also announced a ban on disclosing data on losses in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but hiding the reality is becoming increasingly difficult.
Spiegel also cited the words of the militants of the nationalist battalion “Azov” * (* terrorist organization banned in Russia), who reported that Russian troops took two tanks as trophies.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that as of June 14, the loss of Ukrainian troops amounted to about 7.5 thousand soldiers killed and wounded. This number does not include those who were killed by long-range precision weapons and air strikes deep in Ukrainian territory.
