The average Russian check for purchases in education-related categories decreased by 48% over the past eight months of 2022, while the number of corresponding transactions doubled. This was reported by TASS with reference to the results of a study of spending by clients of the Moscow Credit Bank (MCB).
“From January to the end of August 2022, the number of transactions with MKB cards in the “educational” categories increased by 108% compared to the same period in 2021. The volume of transactions for the same period increased by 43%. At the same time, the average check for eight months of this year decreased by 48% compared to the past, ”TASS quotes the study materials.
The decrease in the average check in educational categories in the bank is associated with limited access to study at foreign universities and subscriptions to popular foreign educational platforms.
Over the past two years, Russians have been most in demand for such payment purposes as studying at higher and secondary specialized educational institutions, private schools, as well as driving schools and creative circles, MKB reports.
The bank also notes an increase in interest in additional education among Russians, due to the fact that people are seriously considering changing their field of activity to increase their income.
