Special operation veteran appointed curator of domestic policy in Primorye

The commander of the Tiger volunteer detachment, Colonel Sergei Efremov, was appointed vice-governor of the Primorsky Territory, in charge of internal policy. The resolution on his appointment to the position of vice-governor was signed by the head of the region Oleg Kozhemyako, reported press service of the executive power of Primorye. On the official website of the regional government in list Mr. Efremov is not yet listed as vice-governors.

In July 2022, the authorities of Primorye reported that on the basis of the 155th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Pacific Fleet, a battalion of Tiger volunteers was being formed to participate in a special military operation in Ukraine.

“The main principle that we are forming here is community. We will provide the battalion with all the necessary equipment, special equipment, and radios. The battalion will come to its fellow countrymen prepared and will be a good support for the military units that are participating in the special operation in Ukraine. The authorities will always be by their side, helping them, lending their shoulder,” Governor Kozhemyako said then. Already next month 240 Tiger fighters took part in the first clash.

Sergei Efremov, who previously held the post of head of the regional branch of DOSAAF, has led the Tiger detachment since its creation. Last November he was awarded the title “Hero of Primorye” – as explained press service of the regional government, “for services to the state associated with the accomplishment of a heroic feat during a special operation.” Mr. Efremov, who has experience serving in the air assault troops and working as the first vice-mayor of Ussuriysk, also has the title of Hero of the DPR, the regional government reported.

The post of curator of internal policy in Primorye has remained vacant since the end of last year. In October, Anton Voloshko, who previously held the post of specialized vice-governor, was elected as a deputy of the regional parliament, and in November – his speaker.
