Oleg Kozhemyako, who took office today as governor of the Primorsky Territory for a second term, as well as predicted “Kommersant”signed a resolution conferring the powers of a representative from the regional executive branch in the Federation Council, Alexander Rolik, who previously served as chairman of the regional legislative assembly.
“Give Rolik Alexander Ivanovich the powers of a senator of the Russian Federation – a representative from the executive body of state power of the Primorsky Territory,” says the document.
Previously, the powers of a member of the Federation Council from the executive branch of the Primorsky Territory were performed by 76-year-old Svetlana Goryacheva.
67-year-old Alexander Rolik was the speaker of the Primorye parliament of two convocations – 2016 and 201. Before that, he served in the security forces – in particular, from 2003 to 2010 headed Primorsky Department of the Federal Service of the Russian Federation for Drug Control.
According to Kommersant, the vacant seat of the speaker of the Primorye parliament should be filled by Vice-Governor for Domestic Policy Anton Voloshko, who, however, has yet to be elected as a deputy. He is running in the 21st single-member constituency, for which by-elections are scheduled for October 29.
